I’ve moved quite a few piles here to there and turned them, watered them etc. Now I am trying a new method which basically is a big haystack method. I leave a divet in the top so I can water it for a few minutes whenever it starts to get dry. I continually turn the outer edges and put them on top, working new grass cuttings into the old stuff to keep the compost pile hot. I’ll let you know how it works. What you are looking at is about three weeks of grass clippings from my son’s mowing business being composted using this method.

Looking good! Is this for a garden next year? I remember when you had the worm farm!

Thanks! The only gardening I’m doing this season is composting. Then I’ll cover it and hopefully plant some good stuff next spring!
